A New Science of Love: A New Era for Couple Interventions

This workshop from the 2013 The Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference, will teach you how to utilize clients’ deepest emotional reserves as a positive force for shaping growth and transformation. You’ll learn to identify and differentiate between primary emotions (deep feelings that expose our vulnerability, leading us to conceal them for self-protection) and secondary emotions (the defensive emotional wall we create around ourselves, precisely so others won’t detect the easily triggered emotions within). We’ll then explore specific techniques and strategies to help clients begin to break down those defensive walls and become less fearful of displaying vulnerability and gaining access to primary emotions. – See more at: http://www.playbacknetworker.com/2013-networker-symposium/713-602#sthash.MCVEYu0C.dpuf
